    3. Elaine, Your "Indian" genetic materials could have been passed along to you via female lines as well. This would be determined by a test of your Mitochondrial DNA, which is passed exclusively from the mother, her mother, etc. For futher reference on this, try a Google search for "Bryan Sykes," or "The Seven Daughters of Eve." This is a book detailing Mitochondrial DNA research done in the 1990's at Oxford University.
