    3. "On the other hand, I've also thought that finding all mentions of a person s date of death would resolve any ambiguities in a transcription of a gravestone by a person without such knowledge." ------------------ This would be great if one had tons of free time. If I were transcribing for a specific person, I would definitely do this, as I do it in my own research. However when doing whole cemeteries for county websites or towns this is impossible especially when they are large. If I have a question regarding a date I put a question mark stating that I'm not sure of the numbers, and I go back again and again to try different techniques and angles. I for one try my best to get an accurate date. I also ask for input, if someone knows of a missing stone or the date is wrong or can add information, great lets add it. As for the person you all are referring to, its hard to say what happened, perhaps someone will go take a look and see what they find. Could be the date on stone is accurate, as I stated earlier, I've found in my personal research that dates can be off by a year or the date of death is actually the burial date. It can be very frustrating. Rene'
