    3. Two weeks ago I returned from a trip to France to visit my cousin and to see where my mother and her family lived. During this trip I had the privilege to visit Normandy. We went to Omaha, Juno and Utah beach. I had the honor of walking where my father and his fellow soldiers fought for the freedom for our world. The same places where many men & women lost their lives. Men & women from many nations. Every single Frenchman I met remembers it well. They honor our young soldiers every chance they get. The fallacy of Americans who believe that we are not liked in France is just that. The most impressive place we visited was the American cemetery. Over 9,300 soldiers are buried there. As we stood there my wife, my cousin and her husband and I all had tears in our eyes. We all have to remember our men and women who serve our country no matter what we believe, no matter our political leanings. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Annette Campbell" <anncamp@linkny.com> To: <NYGREENE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, May 29, 2005 10:48 AM Subject: [GREENE COUNTY] Memorial Day > May the grace of God be with you all who have lost loved ones in wartime. > Annette Campbell > > > ==== NYGREENE Mailing List ==== > The Diary of John Barr, Ensign in the Revolutionary War.
