Hi, I've probably missed earlier discussions of it, but has anyone read "Greene Country Catskills: A History," by Field Horne? Anything much in it we didn't already know? I took a peek at the index on Amazon, and saw that Michael Dolan pops up on pages 143 and 169. Wondering which Michael (in which century), and if there is info included that I don't have. Not a genealogy book, so it doesn't seem too likely. Any comments? Regards, Peggy
A great read. Also suggest that you take time to read Shorto's "The Island at the Center of the World." It provides a wonderful background for understanding the development of the Hudson River Valley and eastern U.S. and the permanent social and cultural values that the Dutch gave us.
