    1. RE: [GREENE COUNTY] Roll Call VAN WIE spouses
    2. Susan Kastan
    3. To Jim Brady, Thank you for your compilation! I had most, but not all. Was missing marriage of Anna Van Wie to Hugh JOLLEY, for example. And now Jim Groat's posting in response to yours gave descendants I didn't have for Helen Celia Van Wie & Edgar SHUFELT. (Another thanks to another Jim!) I do especially appreciate parent names, baptism info, etc. for spouses since those are the families I know less about -- and of course that elusive marriage-and-children information for women! Here are a few additions from my side, with a bit of "color commentary;" (A) Justus Howland Van Wie b. 1839 married Helen WOOD b. 1842. Children: John Van Wie (1872-d.bef.1900), and Isabel Howland Van Wie (b. May 1875) who married Bertram L. FLETCHER. The Fletchers, who lived in Brooklyn, corresponded with my grandfather Van Wie, mid-20th century, about Van Wie genealogy; Mrs. Fletcher was a DAR member. In 1897-98 "Lain's Directory" of Brooklyn lists "VAN WIE Jas H, h 654 St. Mark's Ave" and [his brother] "VAN WIE Justus H capt, h 654 St. Mark's Ave." In 1900 census: Father "Justice" Van Wie, Mfg, Freight T--, Owns Home, Free of Mortgage. Wife Helen, marriage of 29 years, enumerated as having 1 birth, 1 child living. Mother Elizabeth, age 87, enumerated as having 10 births, 10 children living. Two servants also in household. Brooklyn Ward 24, Kings Co, New York - 654 St. Mark's Roll: T623 1062; Page: 12B; Enumeration District: 416. ----- (B) David Henry Van Wie (1813-1886) & Elizabeth (Van Schaack) had a fourth child, Gertrude "Gertie" Van Wie b. 1849, who married Luman BRANDOW (1845-1919), I learned via Annette Campbell of this site, and they had two daughters, Bessie Brandow and Edna Brandow. ----- (C) Judith Ann Van Wie b. 1815 married Jacob G.D. BRANDOW b. abt 1800, and they had a son, Edwin D. Brandow. ----- (D) Ambrose August Van Wie (1818-1871) married Naomi Jane BLOSSOM b. 1825, per a descendant living today. I have some other descendants, from him & from my own additional research. If interested, ask. Regards & thanks again!
