It appears that two of my ancestors divorced, most likely in Greene County in the 1870's. According to one source, the "supreme" court for a county in NY has handled divorces since 1847. Can someone tell me which court in Greene County would have the divorce record I need, if the record exists? Thanks. Ed Kohinke
Ed, the records are files in the Records storage room in Catskill, just down the street from the new County Building. To get access, call the County Clerk. Do you need her number? They are not indexed, so I've been told.
