I joined a short while ago to find out more about the Schermerhorn Bible that was sold on ebay. Thanks to everyone for their advice especially Pat Morrow. My cousin never heard from the seller so I took Pat's advice and contacted the buyer. I wasn't too sure at first how it was going to work out. She sent me copies of all the Bible records as well as the loose marriage certicate. Which was fantastic, but she also sent all the loose materials in the Bible. An actual school paper and some art work done by some Schermerhorn children also some newspaper clippings including one where one the girls received an art award. I am trying to see if these girls ever married and have descendants. I have no knowledge that any of my many surnames were ever living in Greene County. I do know that my 4th great-grandfather visited his brother Francis Boughton in New Durham, Greene County in 1833. Joseph Boughton is my direct line. His brother Francis Boughton was married to Esther Stowe. They had ten children who were believed to have removed to Schoharie, and Albany Counties. Hi Linda, I am sure all the Schererhorn descendants would love to have a transcription of the bible records you received! Any chance you'd be interested in sharing for the Greene Co website?
