I wonder if any of the following could be clues to finding out where in Greene Co., Jonathan's was born? There were so many small border changes.... This is what I have about the 1st land Jonathan bought in Delaware Co....I had asssumed he had grown up in Greene Co....the census says he was born there...thanks for any help.... Jonathan Griffin's occupation on our copy of the 1850 Federal Census is "Harness maker and tanner & currier, Carriage trimmer and trunk maker". The listing for the Griffin family on the 1855 State Census is as follows: 1855 census, Town of Harpersfield Fam # 124 Griffin, Jonathan 36M Greene 1 6 photography Griffin, Deborah A, 28 F wife, Delaware 1 28 Griffin, Julian A. 9M child, Delaware re 6 Griffin, Byron D. 7M child, Delaware re 6 Griffin, Charlotte A 6F child Delaware re 6 Griffn, Florence E 1 F child Del How, Orlando B. 25 M Boarder Greene 2 carriage trimmer The 1 indicates married. The numbers after that are the years the person lived in the Town. It could indicate that Deborah is a second wife. The occupation for Jonathan in 1860 is peddlar. The children are Julian A. (male), Byron, Charlotte A. and Florecne E. Jonathan and Ann's deeds 251 April 13, 1844 between Hosea Reynolds and his wife Elizabeth of Kortright and (Jonathan Griffin and and William R.
