Hi Melanie - bascially, I have material here that I'd like to put ion the Greene Co website, and I just can't type it up fast enough. In particular, there are obituaries from the 4 local newspapers, which is an ongoing project. I would send a month or two's supply out, the volunteer would type it up in Word format, and if there person doesn't have Word, right in the body of the email and then send a month back to me at a time, as an attachment to an email. Once I look through the obits, I get back to the person and they can throw away the originals. How is a month's supply? Well. if it is the Daily Mail - that's alot - it is a daily paper after all - about 20-30 pages of typing in Word with a 12 font. For the other 3 papers, which are weekly, a month would be 2-4 pages in Word. For those who volunteer regularly, I sometimes come across more challenging projects, such as church records, biographies etc. - and I send those out to them, if they are interested.
