Carol VanBuren: I'm a direct descendant of Leah (Frayer) Rappleyea. She was married to Tunis Rappleyea of Prattsville & Lexington. I think her mother's maiden name was "Silvernail". They had 6 children (Jerome was my grandfather). As to your search for data on Coger --- I knew "South" M.Cougear (as it was spelled in Cooperstown) very well. As a boy my mother and I stopped on the street quite often to talk with him. I remember my mother telling me that he was a relative of ours, since he was the son of Harrison & Esther (Frayer) Cougear. I have much the same data that you listed in your email as to his marriage, his date of DOD & his DOB. He worked for the Clark Estate in Cooperstown for 23 years retired in 1939. He had a son Harry and a daughter (married name Kniskern). He is buried in the Hartwick Seminary cemetery (Rt 28 out of Cooperstown. His service was officiated by a Rev. Kenneth E. Hardy and Ingall's funeral home in Cooperstown.) I never met his wife. My memories of him as a young boy was that he was a likeable man, very upbeat, loved the cold weather, always wore his coat and shirt open at the neck like it was spring, had an excellent positive nature about him every time I saw him. As for my own search, I continue to look for the Date of death of my grandmother LULU (HARE) RAPPLEYEA wife of Jerome Rappleyea and where she is buried.
