    1. James CALKINS, b. 1819
    2. I believe I’ve posted this before in the past in some form or other, but got no response at that time. Since one of the listers has suggested that we post details and maybe someone might be able to work on it, here it is again with the latest info I have. James CALKINS, born 18 Jun 1819 in Greene County (according to 1855 New York census). He is found in the 1850 and 1855 census in Hudson, Columbia, NY. Later he moved to Monmouth County, NJ where he died in 1909. He married (1) Elizabeth TEN BROECK, 14 Sep 1842 in Germantown, Columbia, NY, and (2) Sarah ___, ca. 1854. The only CALKINS (or variant) listed in the 1820 census in Greene County is William CALKINS of Durham (3 males <10, 1 males 26-45, 1 females <10, 1 females 26-45, 1 manufacturers), so he is a candidate for the father of my James. I’ve been unable to find any further info linking James with William or anyone else in Greene County. James has a death cert, but it does not list his parents. Can anyone tell me anything further about this William CALKINS of Durham? Anyone have any records of a James CALKINS born in Greene County in 1819 or thereabouts? Thanks, Lance Ware
