One of the problems is that my William Augustus Strong died at Black Rock, NY while in the Army in 1814. He migrated to Atwater, OH in 1806. His wife had gone back to Durham, CT and died there also in 1814 and is buried among the Durham Strong's of the era. His son, my G grandfather was orphaned in Ohio. He was sent "East" (I assume CT) for a couple of years education and then was bound out to a farmer in Ohio. He may have returned later to NY to learn the trade of building barns. While it is interesting to track later families, it is unlikely to solve the big issue - the parents of William Augustus Strong (1783- 1814). Ralph Strong Glen Burnie, MD

    3. Hi I'm sorry I did notdo more. I was approaching this from Hisory of Tully, and scanning the deed books /index/ for transactions, and picked up these transactions. Some Strongs could have been here earlier, but rented or worked for another farmer. They did have a large family locally. I had two marry some of my third cousins, but never followed up. good luck. If I learn more I'll post it here.
