I too have had a very busy summer with a very ill guy at home, everything is on my shoulders to get done. Have had a lot of distant cousins asking questions and trading info which was really nice and added a lot to my files. Then I started trying to locate the parents of my gggg grandma Lucinda Davis? Andrus over in Saratoga County, with not much luck so far. And so it goes! My names in Greene County are Brandow, Bogardus, Austin, Sawyer and many married in names. Always glad to share what I have. I'm still updating Steuben County cemeteries from daily obits, so if you need recent info, you might find it now. PS Sylvia---will be back to work when it quiets down here a bit.
All, I am searching descendants of the Scholderer family originally from Württemberg. I have been able to tie my Lycoming County, Pennsylvania line with that of another line from Ross County, Ohio and hope to tie the below family from Rosenfeld that came to Greene County with them. My web site has additional information and can be found at: <http://www.kevin-sholder.net/genealogy/data/sholder-p/> The ship known as the Rattler carried a Scholderer family to the United States in 1854. The entire list of passengers can be found at: http://immigrantships.net/1800/rattler540902.html It was completely transcribed by Meg Sibbernsen for the Immigrant Ships Transcribers Guild on 23 February 1999 from FHC, Film # 0175501, Record 1177. DISTRICT OF NEW YORK; PORT OF NEW YORK I, Rich Brown, do solemnly, sincerely and truly Swear that the following List or Manifest of Passengers, subscribed with my name, and now delivered by me to the Collector of Customs for the District of New York, contains, to the best of my knowledge and belief, a just and true account of all the Passengers received on board the Ship Rattler whereof I am Master, from Havre sworn on this, 2 Sept. 1854 so help me God (signed) H ?bumy (signed) Rich Brown List or Manifest of All the Passengers taken on board the American Ship Rattler whereof Brown is Master from Havre buthen 1120- 75/100 tons. Name Age Sex Occupation Country of Origin Scholderer, Jacob 40 M Farmer Wurttemberg Scholderer, Johanne 34 F Farmer Wurttemberg Scholderer, Maria 7 F Farmer Wurttemberg Scholderer, Eleanore 5 F Farmer Wurttemberg Scholderer, Johannes 3 * Farmer Wurttemberg Scholderer, Louise 3 mo F Farmer Wurttemberg The family of Jacob Scholderer listed here is believed to be the same Jacob Scholderer that is buried in Hunter, Greene County, New York. On his cemetery stone it states that he was born on November 7, 1814 in Rosenfelt, Whittenburg, Germany; died 23 May 1893. When this ship came to America in 1854 he would have been 39, and possibly been recorded as 40 on the ship's manifest. His son Johannes, did not make it to America, as the * indicates that this person died during the voyage, and was most likely buried at sea. Thank you for your time, Kevin L. Sholder Don't wait to make your Son a great man. Make him a great boy. --Unknown <http://www.kevin-sholder.net/genealogy/> LOCATIONS THAT I AM RESEARCHING: NEW YORK (Broome and Greene Counties) OHIO (Franklin, Meigs and Ross Counties PENNSYLVANIA (Berks, Centre, Clinton, Lycoming, Northumberland and Sullivan Counties) GERMANY (Degerloch, Remmingsheim, Rosenfeld, Sindelfingen and Wolfenhausen located in Württemberg) TOP (60+) SCHOLDERER / SHOLDER SURNAMES THAT I AM RESEARCHING: (Mostly from Pennsylvania - Barnes, Bartlett, Beck, Bennett, Biichle, Brooks, Calkins, Cannon, Caputo, Carson, Crossley, Diparlo, Dooris, Ellis, Farr, Fox, Fry, Gondek, Greenawalt, Hafer, Harer, Haswell, Hoitink, Huggins, Jarrett, Kelchner, Kelley, Kelly, Kern, Kinley, Klees, Kriner, Lanz, Lewis, Lilley, Livermore, Livingston, Ludwig, Mahaffey, Mecum, Miller, Mosteller, Murray, Myers, Packard, Pasanault, Payne, Pittinger, Pompeo, Pryor, Ranck, Robinson, Roller, Schatz, Schauer, Scholderer, Sholder, Sinclair, Slusher, Stroble, Tieman, Updegraff, Weigle, Williamson, Willits and their connection into the Scholderer / Sholder family lines.
