I wouldn't rely too heavily on those CDs. I've heard that they have a failure rate even higher than other types of floppies. As long as the original documents are in a safe place (like a fireproof metal box or your safety deposit box -- the ones you get for genealogy wouldn't be a problem even if the box is sealed at death like they are in NY) it's fine to use the computer disks as a backup with multiple copies on different disks or different types of disks.
