A follow up to my last post about Harlem G. Tompkins. After the death of his second wife, Margaret E. (Rowe) Shelley, Harlem married Mrs. Sarah Jane (Myers) Tompkins. Sarah, the daughter of Adam and Sally (White) Myers, was born 30 Apr 1838 in Prattsville, married Nathaniel D. Tompkins (he died in 1891) and died 13 Apr 1915 in Ashland at the age of 77. She was buried in Ashland's West Settlement Cemetery beside her first husband. She was survived by three children from her first marriage: sons Homer E. and Sanford H. Tompkins, and daughter, Mrs. David Hummell. Patricia Morrow, Windham Town Historian (Greene County, NY)
