Thomas Gay was born 8 May 1839, m. Kate Hallenbeck 2 Oct 1870, so the birth dates of Albert and Maria could be possible. Thomas was the second eldest child. His siblings were John, Ada (married a Thomas), Alice, Mime, Carrie (married a Sager), Harrison, Bub (do not know his given name) and Cal. The last three are noted in the Bible as "sailors who died on the ocean." And I think Limestreet is a familiar location, seems I found Thomas at that address in a directory. Kate's siblings were Emma (m. a Perry, possibly they are the ones buried at Colleburgh Cemetery, Athens), Josephine (m. Frank Spoor), Frances (m. a McCarthy), Mary (m. Elijah Powell), Gertie (m. a Baker and moved to Oakes, ND, to live with her brother after she was widowed), Laura, Henry, and Charlie (moved to Oakes, ND). Kate was born 28 Sep 1847, d. 2 Mar 1895. But we don't have near as many as Greene County has. One other note: my great-grandma Bessie Gay Bird, Thomas' daughter, was full of "mountain stories and superstitions."
