    3. Hello. I am looking for anyone who descends from a child Ann Bronck & James Turnbull, who were married in Coxsackie, Greene Co, NY 23 May 1829. Children are: Sarah Levina, Mary, Jonas, Robert (my husband's ancestor), Rachel Catherine, Eleanor, Lydia A, Emeline, and Lucinda. Ann is the daughter of Jonas & Rachel (Collier) Bronk, and a direct descendant of the builder of the Bronck house in Greene Co, NY. Any information about what happened to James and Ann would be appreciated as well. Sarah, Mary, Jonas & Robert were baptized in April 1839 at the Dutch Reformed Church in Coxsackie. James & Anna, along with her brother Michael & wife Sarah, sell land in early 1839 and disappear. I find what could be the kids living with other families in 1850 census. Jonas & Robert both join the Civil War from Ohio. They both marry there & Robert stays while Jonas goes to Kansas & then Louisiana where he dies. Thanks Sherri Wells Findlay, OH

    3. Hi Sherri, I show the kids as Sarah Levina, Jonas Bronk, Mary and Robert. All mentioned in a will abstract as found in Abstracts of Wills of Greene County: 1:84, Catharine Bronk of Coxsackie. Will Probated September 18, 1848. Heirs: nephew Jones; children of sister Rachel Catherine, Cuyler Turn Bull, Sarah Lovina Bull and Mary Turn Bull. Executor: Isaac C. Collyer. Witnesses: D. Kirtland, Jacob D. Sharp, Robert Vandenbergh, Jonas Collin. A look at the will might make the above abstract a little more clear. The punctuation of Ray Sawyers abstracts is sometimes a little cryptic. A look at the probate package that goes with the will might/probably give the current addresses of the heirs. Where did you get the names of the other children? 3. Remember probate files usually contain alot more information than the will itself. Just think of how complicated our legal system is. This was defintely true years ago as well. Many people died without wills (intestate). The probate files would then provide the information of the heirs and the estate.
