    3. I am in the process of 'connecting the dots' of the Greene & Ulster Co Curtis families, back to common ancestors when possible, all in the hopes of discovering where 'my' Curtis' descended from. Would anyone have information on REV LYSANDER CURTIS and REV SYLVANDER CURTIS? I know both were Curtis forenames, but I'm wondering if Sylvander was incorrectly spelled in Beers. There are coincidences that lead me to suspect this may be so, both being born in MD, and both pastors, going to PA for a time, coming back to Greene. Following is information from Greene Co page, censuses and LDS, all I've been able to find, using both forenames, from computer: (and accounting for variations of surname spellings, although I am using common spelling here. Accounting for forename variations is often impossible!) Rev Lysander Curtis, born in Allegany MD,son of Levi & Elizabeth Curtis (no other info on them), was pastor of Athens church 1845-48; went to Berne, Albany; Altoona PA; Athens 1874; 1854 Loonenburgh, Zion Lutheran, retired in Greene Co. Rev Sylvander Curtis 1819-1887, was married to Clarissa Matilda White 1818-1893, dau of Henry White & Almira Tinker. He was born in MD, she in Athens. They were married 1845 in Athens. According to 1880 census, his father was born in VA, his mother in PA; her father in MA, her mother in CT.(her family verified) Both are buried in Mt Hope Cem, with their son Sylvander 1845-1853. Census: 1860 Livingston, Columbia Co Sylvander 42 Lutheran minister MD Clarissa 42 NY Henry 11 NY Alfred 9 NY 1870 Catawissa, Columbia, PA Sylvander 51 clergy MD Clarissa 51 NY Alfred 19 NY Eliza White (her sister) 1880 Amersterdam, Montgomery Sylvander 61 clergyman MD VA PA CM 60 NY MA CT Children: Alfred W Curtis 1851-1925 mar Mary Nelson 1857-1924, dau of Robert Nelson & Harriet L McKelvey; sons Harry McK Curtis, Robert Curtis. Buried Riverside Cem. Henry Curtis mar Lucy Reed, dau of Epetenus & Lucy Reed, moved to Rock Island, Ill, with her sisters Eliza, mar to Marcus Osborn, Sarah, mar to John Corker. Found a Sylvander L Curtis in WWI draft registrations, Houston, Texas, born 1 Nov 1886 Athens, married, self-employed gas engineer, signed Van L Curtis. Could not find anything else about him. Thanks in advance, Peigi
