Well, I wanted to take a few moments to thank the 15 volunteers, so far, that have agreed to do some typing. This has cleared up the backlog of typing of obituaries for the Daily Mail, Windham Journal, Greenville Local. Still have a packet of Greenville Press for anyone interested. What surprised me most was how far flung the volunteers lived. Here's a breakdown: Ohio Maine California Utah New Jersey (2) North Carolina Kentucky Nevada New York Virginia Alberta, Canada Florida Georgia Wisconsin Now that is amazing! Thank you very much, each and every volunteer. If you need anything, just let me know. All packets are in the mail today. Please let me know when you receive them. I worry about the mail sometimes - I have lost a few packets before. Sylvia
Sylvia, you can add Washington state to the list. I'd be happy to type for you. I'm researching my Lehmann/Lehman/Layman/Laymon line in Green County, primarily around Catskill and Athens. The futhest back I have is Clements LEHMANN, born 1686 in Kallstadt, Germany, died 1752 in Athens, Greene Co, NY. The name spelling changed every generation until we got to LAYMAN, but there are descendants using the various spellings. My branch of the family moved to Minneapolis, and eventually to western Washington and Oregon. My gr-gr-grandfather was William Layman, b 1847 in NY, d 1918 WA. shirley :) Sylvia Hasenkopf wrote: >Well, I wanted to take a few moments to thank the 15 volunteers, so far, that have agreed to do some typing.
