Doing a quick lookup, Sophia is said to be the daughter of Timothy Tompkins and Ida J. Maise. Do you know that to be wrong?

Where did you find that? I remember doing a town by town search of all Tompkins in the 1830 and 1840 census trying to locate possible families who had a daughter of the right age, and Tim Tompkins was a possibility. I also remember discussing this with someone who was also interested in the Tim Tompkins line, but at the time there was no proof of much. Either someone has a great record, or this is one of those things that someone links together as a best fit, and it becomes a fact with no basis. Thus could you please let me know where you located this info? And thanks for your time in responding.
