Hi Zeke, Thank-You for the Weed data. My Weed history was pasted down to me from my mothers side of Hayes -Weed family folklore. Proveing it has been a trial. I do know Nathan Weed was the father of my Rebecca Weed Hayes ( 1762-1826) His tombstone was found in a celler of a old home in Greene, Chenango Co.N.Y. The new owners of the home found old Nathan Weeds tombstone under their old washer and in time> emailed me and put it back on its base in the David Jackson Cemtery in Greene,N.Y. 2 yrs ago.near his 2 daughters, Rebecca Weed Hayes w/o Nathaniel Hayes Jr.and near Lydia Weed Phillips w/o Isaac Phillips. DAR had copied the headstone in 1930s- Nathan Weed died 24 May 1815 age 83 yrs. Now his headstone has been set back where it belongs. I have Nathaniel Hayes Jr.Rev. War pension papers - stateing the moves that they had taken and places they had lived after his service in Rev. War.fromWestchester co,N.Y. to Dutchess Co,N.Y. in 1790 census - to Cairo, Greene Co, N.Y. in 1800 census. to Triangle & Greene ,Chenango Co.N.Y. by 1815, old Nathan Weed is there too. I believe my 4th gt. grandmother Rebecca Weed Hayes was a aunt to Thurlow Weed thru his father Joel Weed, could have very well been her brother. From Baptizim records of Church of Christ records of Poundridge,Westchester co. N.Y.+ South Salem of Children of Nathan and Lydia Weed. - But the records are not clear enough for me to prove who Nathan and Lydia Weed were. at that time period in Westchester Co. N.Y. records. 1760s No records from old Nathan Weeds birth date of 1732 + no clues where old Nathan Weed came from, But I'm almost sure it was Fairfield co, Ct. - Now to prove it.? One of My Brick Walls. Thank-You for helping. Virginia, Beers' History of Greene County, p. 313 provides a sketched picture of Hervey Weed and 6 paragraphs of circa 1884 info on the his family. I can scan these for you if you'd like. - Ron W. - Be Happy - Consider the alternatives. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Virginia D Smith" <ginsmith@alltel.net> To: <NYGREENE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, September 23, 2005 9:48 PM Subject: Re: [GREENE COUNTY] Roll call! - Cook - Weed- Hayes > Hi Zeke, > Thank-You for the Weed data.
