Connie - checked the 1855 state census for Greene Co - George is not listed in it. The only Rea family is Jospeh, from Coxsackie. He is 46 yrs old, b. Greene Co, always lived in Coxsackie. He's a farmer and gardner. Wife is Lucinda, aged 39, b. Schoharie Co, living 7 years in Coxsackie. Children are Leonard, a farmer, aged 19, b. Greene Co, always lived in Coxsackie, Sharlott 14, Elizabeth 11, Jeremiah 9. To me this appears that Lucinda is a second wife. Have you found George in the 1860 census? My sister forwarded this information to me: George was in 1870 census, age 17, son of John Rey (name misspelled) In 1880 he is listed as Dewitt Rea, head of house with Ida his wife and John his 1 year old son.
