Hi Sylvia, I'm researching George Robertson, b. ca. 1815 in Nova Scotia, who had a son, George W. Robertson, b. ca. 1847 in NY. Looking over the Civil War records, I didn't find any good age match for either of them, at least not with enough detail to feel there was a match. Since the older George apparently died by 1870, I had thought maybe he was in the war. I actually ordered a record for a George W. Robertson from some archive in NY, can't recall which one, but it wasn't my guy.
