Looking for parents/information on Dewitt Clinton Croswell, born 1804 Athens, married Caroline Hasbrouck, lived in Sullivan Co 1850, then to Hurley, then Saugerties. I have no confirmative info prior to 1850. Does anyone have any information on Mackay Croswell? I know he was a Catskill printer, newspaperman, had local real estate holdings, etc. I do not know for sure his parents, wife's name, where buried. I suspect he is the brother of Dr Thomas OHara Croswell and Rev Harry Croswell, sons of Capt Caleb & Hannah Kellog, buried in Gilboa. All three were politically/civically active somehow. Read about them if you want more local history that makes US History so alive today, such as the Stroop story made me feel. Goosebumps..... Any Croswell info appreciated, especially as it would tie in with Saugerties Croswells. Peigi
