    3. Joel Curtis 1786 Wolcott Ct-20 aug 1844 Cairo, buried Round Top Cemetery married 1808 Hannah Pardee 1786- ? He was a clockmaker, and may have apprenticed to Aaron Willard of Mass. in 1801 A clock of his c1828 is in the Presbyterian Church in Cairo. He was JP of Cairo 1822-33. His parents were Abel Curtis 1741-1828 CT & Anna Alcott 1753-? CT. Children: Elmira 1824-1890 mar George C Mott 1821-1902, both are buried in Catskill Rural Cemetery. Polly 1809-1827 mar Orrin Slater 1802-1889 (who later married Ester ?) Polly is buried in Round Top Cem. Stained Glass Memorial window in 1st Methodist Ch of Cairo is dedicated to Orrin, Polly & Ester. Orrin as a child lived in log house in 'Old Forge' on property belonging to Joel. Harriet 1811- ? married? George 1813-? mar Thenia ? Anson 1817-? mar Mahala Dean Oscar mar Sally Helen Overbaugh 1837, Leeds. These children, along with Hannah, their mother, went to Hickory, Fulton Co Ill by 1850, after Joel's death. I am surmising Oscar is their son, as he travelled with the family. Ann Eliza 1819-? I have no further info on. Below is all the information I have on Stiles; how he 'connects' to Joel above I do not know. Stiles Curtis 1816-1892, died at the County Almshouse,according to T/o Cairo Death records. He was the son of Sarah/Sally Curtis 1781-1890, she was the second wife of Jared Clark 1770-1850, married 1829, first wife Anna died 1829, and is buried in W Durham Cem. Stiles is living with Sarah in 1850 & 1860, 1870 he is with wife Mary Jane ? 1821-1876, Windham Cem, with Jared & Sarah. Both Jared & Sally were born in CT, and are buried in Windham Cem. Do not know where Stiles is buried. Any additional information on Stiles would be appreciated. Peigi
