While going through a binder of Greene County ephemera I bought last year, I found a photo that had this written on the back: Here lies the body of Samuel Scudder Aged 17 years, 3 months and 2 day. Who was a son of Sam, who was a son of Paul, who was a son of John, who was a son of Peter God Bless Poor Sam Amen! The picture is of a man, four ladies and a young girl. They are sitting on some rocks in front of a stone wall, and are all well dressed. It may have been the funeral party. One of the ladies' faces has been scratched out.The photo appears to be from between 1880 and 1900, and has some doodling, probably from a child, on the back. There is no photographers mark on it. Do the names ring a bell with anyone?
