I know the Underhills are well researched back to roots in England, but I have a an Eleanor Underhill who was reported to have been born in Hunter on January 10, 1806. Her parents are listed in an Underhill resource as William Underhill b. 1773(of Amenia, Greene County) and Martha ____ b. 1783 in Hunter, Greene County. Obviously there was no Greene County in those years. I have not come across an Amenia in what is now Greene County, but most importantly I am interested in getting a surname on Martha. They had the following children: Joanna m. George Kerr Mary m. ___ Abbott Elenore Daniel Bloomer m. Harriet Olds Charles H. m. Caroline Wager Esther George While one could make a guess on whether the Bloomer name attached to Daniel represents Marthas maiden name, the Underhill book lists that name as a probable maiden name of the mother of William.
