>I found some info on Twilight Park, but was wondering just what and where it was. Twilight Park, Sunset Park and Santa Cruz Park are exclusive enclaves of summer cottages, private clubhouses and tennis courts situated in the vicinity of Haines Falls. Actually these "cottages" are fairly opulent homes built for wealthy city-dwellers, their guests and household staff. In the late 1800s and early 1900s that would have included butlers, maids, cooks, chauffeurs, nursemaids and gardeners. Judging from the description in the ad of "facing Twilight Park," your ancestor must have lived across the street (State Route 23A) from its entrance, where the Mountain Top Historical Society currently has its headquarters. At this point the narrow road heads down the steep mountain toward Palenville and Catskill in a series of hairpin turns, bordered by walls of rock and picturesque waterfalls on one side and a treacherous drop into the Kaaterskill Creek on the other. From the rear deck of the Twilight Park clubhouse one can see this road, across the clove, only when the leaves are off the trees.
