I'd like to take this moment to wish all on the Greene County List Mailing List a Happy and Safe Holidays and a Happy and Prosperous New Year. Many wonderful new additions to the Greene County website are planned for the new year. I will be embarking on a new project and that is to transcribe and post the deed book indices for Greene County. An enormous job, as many may realize, however it is sorely needed. In addition, I will be heading to New Baltimore this year with the goal to complete at least three major cemeteries. Finishing up Thomson Street Cemetery in Catskill took way longer this year than I anticipated given the general poor condition of the stones. My husband volunteered to help me lift and read the fallen stones, so hopefully this is the most up to date transcription as we can make it. My thanks to Ron, my husband, for his help. The dedication of the Greene County transcribers is heartfully appreciated. Without your help, this website would not be what it is today. To Scott Wichmann and Mignon Matthews a HUGE thank you for your continual dedication to the many transciption projects you have undertaken this year. My thanks also go out to the many individuals who have opened up their personal archives to add tidbits of Greene County history to the website - it is your generous nature that has made the site so successful. My challenge to all - if you have old family photos, bibles, deeds, school ephemera etc, why not share it with other Greene County researchers.
