Sylvia, I've been checking this out for the past few weeks and think I have at least one possibility: Family Search shows Abi Ingalls Brandow as the daughter of William Brandow and Sarah Haines. However, I think this is incorrect, as William died in South Jewett in 1905 at age 80, putting his birth year as 1825. Abi Brandow was born 1839. I don't think William was a father at 14 yrs old! Unless John had another son I don't know about, the only likely candidate for Abi's father would be Lambert Brandow b. 1803. He married Love Skiff b.1816. After her death he married Elisabeth Foster in 1874. The only children I could find for Lambert and Love were David Brandow b.1838 married to Anna Doyle, and an unnamed infant who died at 2 weeks old in June 1857. That leaves a 20 year gap, time enough for the 5 grand children named in John Brandow's will. ~Ken~ In a message dated 11/12/2008 10:25:13 A.M. His will mentions 5 Brandow grandchildren but does not say who their parent was. I assume they are the children of a deceased son since their surname is Brandow: They are: John E. Brandow Keziah Ann Brandow (Meggs) Lucinda Brandow ( Mansfield ), born about 1831 George Brandow, born ca. 1832 Abi (Abigail) Brandow (Ingalls), born 1839, died 1906, Hunter I would like to know who the father of these children is. I feel he probably lived in the Town of Jewett , but have not found a tombstone of someone who could be the one. I think he was married to Sarah A. Haines (born about 1812). I believe that Sarah married another of John's sons (William, born about 1827) for her second husband. William is shown in the 1850 census with a much older wife Sarah along with one or two of her children in the household. She and William had two children , Loretta and Adelbert. One census shows that Sarah was the mother of 7 children (5 by her first husband and 2 by William) and William as the parent of 2 children. William is too young to be the father of the five, but I haven't figured out who their father was. The children I have for John and his wife Martha are: Lambert Brandow, born 1813 (I know his children, so he doesn't seem tot be the father of the five) Son whose name I am trying to find Emeline Brandow (Rivenburgh Burroughs) Nancy Brandow (Burroughs) born about 1815 Elizabeth Brandow (Ward) Harriet Brandow, born about 1825-7 William Brandow, born 1827, died 1905 John Henry Brandow Katurah Brandow (Barlow), born about 1831 Elise Brandow (Cargill), born about 1834 Anyone have any ideas?
