Here we go again! In the will of John Brandow of Ashland Probated October 9, 1854, there is listed a daughter, Harriet Benjamin. I have Jehiel Benjamin, 1822 - 1855 buried next to his parents, Joseph Benjamin and Mary Cole, in the Mountain Valley Cemetery. Jehiel was married to a Harriet, and had 3 children, one being Martha b.1847. I believe this Harriet is Harriet Brandow, and the daughter is named after Harriet's mother Martha Betts. After Jehiel died, Harriet remarried to Samuel Cole b. 1808 from Lexington, who is somehow related to Mary Cole, but I can't find the connection yet. John Brandow's son Eli was the father of Abigail Brandow, and was Harriet's brother. Abi Brandow was married to Charles Ingalls, Joseph Benjamin's nephew.

Anyone heard of this family before? I know that Polly M. died April 27, 1847, aged 21y2m13d. She is buried in the Deyo Cemetery in Lexington amongst a group of stones that appear to be direct family members of Isaac Decker and his wife Elizabeth Deyo. My theory, is that polly is another daughter. There is a spot for her int he census of 1830. Here's what I have so far on this family group.
