After perusing the records of this church I am perplexed as to the reasonable proximity of people traveling great distances to church. I see that there are marriages at the Zion church from people living at Coxsackie. is it possible that people ca. 1800 and previous were traveling to Athens from Coxasackie for church services ???? or were they just relations getting married ??? I can see that they were coming across from Hudson on the ferry - and making the carriage ride from Catskill good enough. but Coxsackie ? jack
