I have a couple loose end Deckers listed in my family tree file. They both appear to be from the Prattsville, Ashland and Gilboa area of Greene and Schoharie counties so I am hoping they fit with the other mountaintop Deckers. The first is Burr Decker. I have no dates for his birth or death but I have 2 wives listed for him. One is Ruth Delamater Born December 04, 1899 and died November 28, 1989. Ruth is buried in Fairlawn Cem, Prattsville NY. His other wife I have listed is Ada German. I have her born in Sept 1898. From his wives ages I would guess he was born 1880-1900 but that's just my guess. The second is Dolla or possibly Dolly Decker who married Giles Cotton. I have her born about 1803 and died in 1877. I believe these dates came from the Holcomb Genealogy books. I did find online a marriage date for her and Giles of October 18, 1824 in the Reformed Dutch Church, Gilboa, Schoharie, New York. I think she could possibly be a daughter of Derrick Decker and Elizabeth Sesson. I find on the LDS site two daughters listed for them named Doly and Dolly but the first was born 8/13/1805 and the second 3/24/1808. I'm guessing that since they seem to be named the same that the first died before the next was born. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Hi Gary - those two Dollys are the only early Dollys out there, both daughters of Derick and Elizabeth Decker. I am presuming the first Dolly died, unless the same child was batised twice for some strange reason. Dolly was named undoubtedly after her aunt Dorothy, daughter of Gysbert and Catalyntje Spoor, b. Dec 12, 1783 in Columbia Co (Gysbert Decker and Catlyntje Spoor, parents, Dorothy, child, b. 12.12.1783, bap. 2.15.1784, sponsors; Lourens Deckker and Dorothy Decker) and I believe she married Stephen Myers (Royden W. Vosburg, original, Lawrence V. Rickard, copy, Vital records of the Gilboa Reformed Church, Gilboa, Schoharie, Co, NY, (1918, original, 1999 copy), 39, June 1, 1807 - Stephen Myers and Dolly Decker.) The Dolly born in 1808 would have been 16 at the time of her married to Giles Cotton. I have found no other Dollys to date.
