Hi Sylvia, Yes, the Deckers seem to be Dutch. They show up in the early Kingston records. Quite a few show up in Columbia County after that, but they're hard to follow as bits and pieces seem to be missing. I'm told that there is Decker genealogy that isn't widely available, but has been filmed by the LDS. A John Decker born 1817 could have come from either side of the Hudson, but I'd look at Ulster County first. Seeking some advice on the parents of John, b. abt 1817. Was living in Lexington in 1850 census. I am seeing that the Decker family was Dutch, not Palatine - is that correct? It also appears that the Decker family in the Prattsville, Lexington, Jewett, Ashland area all seem to be related somehow. Hello Jim, This is Seward Osborne and I have a queston for you. Have you ever come upon the death date and burial place of Lt. Lyman Hoysradt, 20th New York State Militia, a soldier who survived the Civil War. His father and brother Nicholas, also a captain in the 20th, ended up in Lawrence, Kansas. I never could locate Lyman. Regards, Seward ----- Original Message ----- From: "James Brady" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, January 05, 2009 7:16 PM Subject: Re: [NYGREENE] John Decker and Sarah Soule > Hi Sylvia, > > Yes, the Deckers seem to be Dutch.
