    3. Sylvia, My ancestor, Dennis S.( Schuyler) Stow, who was born in 1800 in Catskill, Greene County, has at least two inventions, one patented by the United States Patent Office. He moved to Cohoes, Albany County about 1847. (1). US Patent #6767- Dennis S. Stow, Cohoes, Albany Co., miter box, 10/2/1849 and (2). An invention praised by the New-York State Agricultural Society for the Year 1851-- "A Shingle machine, which cuts two shingles at the same time. " In " The History of Cohoes, N.Y." under death listings for 1863 on page 276; " Nov 23, in Troy, Dennis S. Stow, for many years a prominent inventor and resident of Cohoes, aged 63." I also have copies of two deeds in which Dennis S. Stow and several other men including Col. Zaddock Pratt bought land together under the name of the Prattsville Manufacturing Company in 1846 in Prattsville.
