I'm slow to the roll call but maybe there's someone out there... here's a different query likely for those on the list that live in Greene Co or nearby. I'm related to the RIDER family. One branch was involved in Albany and Greene Counties. This branch owned the Rider Brickyard in Athens on Washington St. From newspaper articles I know they had the brickyard as early as 1876 or 1879 and I think it continued until the 1930s after which a mushroom grower (or something like that - it is on other computer so I'm not positive at the moment) took over the brickyard. I wondering if anyone knows of where I can find/buy a brick (or two) that was produced by this Rider Brickyard. I have seen a picture of one so I know the bricks have RIDER in raised letters pressed into at least one side of the brick. Thanks for any leads. Lisa Eschenburg
