    3. Is there a source for Athens marriage records prior to the start of the state's record keeping? Also, since it does not need to be certified, is there another source for those in the 1900s without paying the state's $22.00? The Village of Athens clerk told me to order these from the state. This is the first time that a town clerk has not been helpful. Thank you, Nedra

    3. Hi Nedra, who are you looking for and other than the date of the marriage, what other info are you seeking? 3. My goodness! Marriage records go way back. Two of the churches have them: the First Reformed Church of Athens, or Zion Lutheran Church of Athens. Zion Lutheran is the oldest. Who are you looking for and do you have any dates? 3. I have several of the church records in books published by Jean Worden (or Kelly - I have to look). Tell me who you are looking for and give me some dates. I will be happy to do a look-up for you.
