I believe I have xerox copies of all the Groat rev war pension records from a visit to the National Archives back in 1984. Which one are you related to? Hi folks, I was recently asked which genealogy software is really good. I use Family Tree Maker, and have done so for years, so I am not sure what else is out there and what is good. Any thoughts? Sylvia When I needed to upgrade my DOS version of Brother's Keeper, I also chose Family Tree Maker because it allows source references for every fact AND it prints these with the event/person. Most programs print the references at the end of a family group sheet which is cumbersome to evaluate for accuracy plus often tends to not be included by others if the FGS is passed around. Nedra
I subscribe to the magazine, "Family Tree." Sometime ago they had an excellent article comparing the many Genealogical software programs that are available. Of course FTM was reviewed and had a high rating, but there were others some of you might want to look into. If you haven't seen this magazine, I highly recommend it.
