    3. Agnes, I have found Isaac Van Loan's tombstone in the Catskill Village cemetery. It states that he died 14 Nov 1840 aged 72 yrs. That would put his date of birth abt 1768. Isaac Van Loan who married Jane Diel (I am now thinking likely Tiel is her maiden name) was born 25 Jan 1759, baptised at the Athens Zion Lutheran Church in 1759. It appears these are completely two different Isaacs. 1. [NYGREENE] Roll Call - Simmons/Simons
    2. I'm always on the look out for Conrad Simmons (and various phonetic spellings) around Durham, Greenville, and Cairo. His dates are 1767-1857. He moved from Columbia Co. to Greene Co., prior to the 1810 Greenville census. In his later year he moved back and forth between Greene Co., and Delaware Co.. He outlived three wives: 1) Maria Kellerhouse; 2) Maria Beard; 3) Catherine ______ and had 11 known children. Children: Anna/Ann, Elizabeth, William/Willem, Geertje, John/Johannes, (daughter), Andrew, (son), Catharine, (most likely) Albert, and Lucinda. All but the last three were born in Columbia Co. NY. I'm looking specifically for documentation from 1810-1840. Cindy

I have that name in my genealogy as being born in Greene County in 1813 to a Charles Kelsey ,1813-1857, who later moved with children to Wayne County, NY via Erie Canal. I know your Harriet is not the same person, as my Harriet supposedly never married but had a son David Kelsey (no known father) and lived with her brother Samuel Kelsey in 1860 in Wayne County. 3. I am trying to see if (how) there is a connect to the Elliotts of East Durham (James, Theodore, etc.- at Shady Glen) Beers mentions a connection but it's a little fuzzy. It's been a while since I worked on this line...so I'm even a little fuzzy at this point....one of the Elliotts (Nathan or Nathanial) was lost at sea, but again, will have to check my notes to remember where or what the circumstances were. There is also a Betsy Elliott (Eliot) in the Locust Grove cemetery and again, I have no information as to whom her husband was. Is the Nathan Elliott material you recently reviewed from Greene County or Albany County or are the two families the same? 3. Hi: Joined this list several years ago. I would like to get information about Horace SAGUE and his parents. He is a ggg grandfather on my mothers side of the family. He married Harriet Jane Kelsey in Poughkeepsie 4/11/1860. According to the Kelsey Genealogy he was born in Catskill , N. Y. , August 1, 1833 to Thomas and Eliza Sague. I have not done any real work on this line before Horace, Just throwing this out there to see if it rings any bells. I'm assuming that Catskill was in Greene County at that time. 3. Wow, it has been super quiet on the list the last while - I can't imagine that everyone has discovered all the answers to their genealogical questions! I'll start off - does anyone know who the parents were of Isaac Van Loan who married Jane Dies? He was a sloop captain on the Hudson River in the very early years of the 19th century. Sylvia

    3. A new mailing list has been approved by Rootsweb to represent the interests of genealogists and genealogy organizations in New York State. The list has been initiated by the N.Y. STATE COUNCIL OF GENEALOGICAL ORGANIZATIONS. NYSCOGO was formed in 1991 to facilitate communication between genealogical and historical groups. NYSCOGO provides a forum for local and state-wide action and interest in the genealogical field. Any genealogical organization in New York State is eligible for membership, which entitles the naming of two delegates who serve as the link between NYSCOGO and the individual society. "Genealogical organization" is defined as any organization that considers itself to have a genealogical function, including, but not limited to, genealogical, lineage and historical societies, libraries or archives with local history and genealogical collections. Though we hope that your group will be interested in membership to NYSCOGO, membership is not necessary for participation on this list. It is our wish that a Rootsweb mailing list will provide a more convenient and expedient forum for discussion, communication and sharing - meeting only twice a year can not provide as great an opportunity to communicate. * *Subscribing.* Clicking on one of the shortcut links below should work, but if your browser doesn't understand them, try these manual instructions: to join *NYSCOGO-L*, send mail to NYSCOGO-L-request@rootsweb.com <mailto:NYSCOGO-L-request@rootsweb.com> with the single word /subscribe/ in the message subject and body.
