    3. It's the Van Bramer cemetery. Apparently used to be more stones, but a family member used some for the foundation of the barn - or so I am told. This is many, many years ago. 3. I've just returned from bagpiping in the Greenville St Pat's parade today, and while going through Kiskatom, Cairo, etc., seeing all the back roads I used to travel, (I grew up on 32A, now just off Shultis Corners in Saugerties), I again felt the past and present intermingle. Had to take this moment to tell eveyone how much I enjoy the Greene site and this list. I met a Greene Co CURTIS/DEYO relative, online and in person, through doing family research. I'm actually surprised, though, I haven't seen other Curtis researchers, as it is among the founding families of the area. I belong to other lists, and of them, Greene and one for Morayshire, Scotland, are always busy and full of interesting tidbits. Thanks to all for contributions. Now, a question: from Story's Corner to Cairo on 32, a bit past the chicken farms, on the left side of the road, are a few gravestones. Who are they? Peigi

    3. After visiting with an old friend of Norwegian heritage, who has done extensive genealogical research on his family, I have been corrected. My earlier statement that only Danes end their surnames in 'sen' (for 'son of') while Norwegians and Swedes use an 'son' ending was incorrect. Norwegians also use an 'sen' suffix according to my source. It is only the Swedes who use 'son'. I regret any consternation or confusion that my statement caused and all those who previously objected are hereby issued one big 'I TOLD YOU SO!' (Actually, the crow is not too bad, it's the feathers that bother....:) Ron W. - In God We Trust -

    3. Yes, Albany Airport is about 45 minutes away. This is a beautiful place - very relaxing with gorgeous scenery. I could even recommend a great place to stay - my mother-in-law runs a resort - really the old boarding house style home with 33 rooms up in Round Top. Three meals a day included in the room rate at a price you cannot beat anywhere. Great German-American cuisine. Anything you can dig out on them would be awesome Sylvia. Vedder's is pretty far away from here. I'd love to take a field trip to the Greene county area sometime. Is there a large - ish airport in the area? I have Lupus and my health is enough of a problem that I wouldn't attempt to drive. 3. I would like to find the will/probate information for David BAGLEY/BAGLY. An obituary would be welcome also. David was alive in 1790 and two sons at home, Daniel and possibly Jacob. I believe David would be the father of our line and need this information to confirm or not. The son Daniel was born 1 Apr 1774, married abt 1794 and moved his family to PA aft 26 May 1817.
