i have PARMENTER'S (PARMENTOR, PARRENTER,)in Windham/Hunter: Joshua, b. 1800 NY may have been the youngest son of Joshua PARMENTER Jr. older siblings were Rhoda, Olive, Sumner and Winthrop. i am searching for proof that this is his family. i would also like to know when and where Joshua Jr. and Polly died. Joshua and wife Polly came to Hunter in 1800 from Framingham, Ma. i find this family in the 1810 census and in the school records of Hunter. Joshua Jr. appears in the 1820 census with family.. his children are shown to be enrolled in the school 1828-1832. Sumner moved to Ohio and is buried in Berlin Heights, Erie co. Oh. my Joshua moved to Ashtabula, Oh. in 1830 Winthrop appears in Hudson, Columbia, Co. Ny..no death for him my Joshua eventually moves through Ind. to Il and he dies in Iowa in 1880. Jim, Have you done any more research on the DECKER line? I think I am the only one in the world researching my side of the DECKER line. My Ephraim DECKER was b. abt. 1807 in unknown but did live in Greene Co. during his marriage. He appears out of nowhere and then disappears after 1880. Thank you, Elaine ------ I tend to think of the Deckers as a Columbia County family. I've seen their records in the Claverack and Linlithgo churches, probably others as well. Maybe he came over from there. It's probably worth pointing out here that as I've been looking through census records lately it's interesting how many people came to Greene from Rensselaer and Columbia Counties some time after the Revolutionary War period. Quite a few of them moved to the interior of Greene or the more western areas and firmly planted themselves there. The Van Valkenburghs in Prattsville come to mind. I think some of these people may have left rented lands of the Livingstons or the Van Rensselaers for the opportunity to own land in newly opened areas. Jim

I too am interested in the Hallenbecks, although I am not positive if mine were from Athens or Coxsackie... What I am trying to do is bridge the gap between what I know and the older info... The farthest back I am able to go right now is as follows: Casper J. HALLENBECK born c.1793/1797 married Maria HALSEY born c.1805. They were married 1 Jan 1825 Ref. Church Bethlehem. Casper died 23 MAr 1885 and Maria died 21 MAr 1888. Both buried Chapple Cemetery, West Athens. Children included: Magdaline born 3 Jan 1826 William T. born c.1834 married Catherine ? Jane Ann born c. 27 Jul 1837 married Smith Quick James R. born 31 Aug 1839 married Harriet ? (he was my 3x great-grandfather). William Dobson born about 1770, died 1841 and buried in Mount Hope Cemetery, Athens. Appeared in the census for Athens 1820-1840. Known children, William Wilbur and Hiram (both married Dickinson girls), possibly James (married to Fannie Holbrook). There were several others, their names are unknown. Erastus Kelsey married Maria(h) Van Loan in 1840 Atthens. By 1850 he has moved on to Jewett. In 1860 his brother Russel is there with his familly. Russel married Mary Jane Aiken. Looking for more information on their parents. I have been told their names were Thomas Kelsey and Nancy Stevens but I have no documentation to prove it. Marion Douglas

He was the father of Warren Church b. 1821 in Durham. Warren was the father of William E. Church b. Nov. 3, 1845. William was the father of my grandmother, Louisa Church b. July 9, 1888 in Athens. From here, my CHURCH line ends. William had a son, Arthur Leroy CHURCH, who was half brother to my grandmother but he had no sons. My Snyder was a Peter V. Snyder who married Maryett KIPP on Oct 5, 1856 in Catskill. Peter was b.abt 1830 and d.?. Maryett was b.May 19, 1841 and died after 1910. Their children were: Ellen and Elmira possibly twins b. abt 1859 Harvey b. abt 1861 Lizzie C. b. abt 1863 I believe that Peter's father was Jeremiah Snyder b. abt 1795 d.aft 1860 and UNKNOWN Other siblings of Peter's were possibly Charles Snyder b.1825 and Almon/Almond Snyder b. abt 1820 Elmira Snyder married Francis MOWER b. abt 1861 d.after 1910.
