    2. Yea I think I noticed the?name, but thought the kids' names might be helpful...and with the way many families intermarry I thought Sisson might come up twice! When I did some searching on Google Book I saw Elizabeth Delong married James Amiot not John, so there are definitely problems with the tree. Hi Karol, saw that online, and noticed that they have Sylbis mother in law as Elizabeth Sisson, when actually Elizabeth Sisson is her mother. That blew it for me. Likely an internet genealogy, if you know what I mean... Thanks anyway! Sylvia

    1. [NYGREENE] Schermerhorns from Dutchess Co. westward ho ?
    2. Scott, John (IT)
    3. After perusing the Schermerhorn Gen - I know that my connection is NOT present. I suggest that the John Schermerhorn who was present in Athens at the Episcopal Church is the father of my Margaret b. 1812 at Athens ( appears she might be Magdalena). No female listed at baptism - what a regrettable piece of bad luck. Maggie's death record says mother is "Maria" - with a very sketchy hand - and given info by her youngest daughter Alice Collins at Fulton, Oswego Co. To match this in tandem, a marriage record at Athens in 1836 to John Roberts is also present. That was indeed her husband. There appears also at Athens a Henry Schermerhorn married there in 1796 to Polly Van Valkenburgh at the Zion Lutheran Church. One child Hetty baptized - he disappears. On the same page as the birth of Maggie in 1812 are listed Parmentiers - one John Schermerhorn married Maria Palmatier at Rhinebeck ca. 1763 and indeed they have sons John and Henry and 8 others - is This the John who m. 1801 at Rhinebeck to Anna Maria Kreisler ? Her father John Kreisler appears to be the John Kreisler who was baptized at Athens 1720 - then Loonenburgh but later removed to W. Copake. So here we have at least an old Lutheran Athens connection and a Maria wife of a John - albeit Anna Maria. This particular Anna Maria was b. 1770 at Rhinebeck perhaps at 42 a little old to be Maggie's mum. I do think it interesting the final intersection of a Maria and a John together - Parmentiers at Athens - a Henry present at Athens and John Schermerhorn as possible brothers,. tra la. jack

    3. One has to be careful with transcriptions of original documents. Dolly could have been Polly and vice versa, to the transcribers eyes. My experience has been that Dolly, when correctly transcribed, is Dorothy or Dorothea and Polly is Mary or Maria. Based on the time frame and location I think Francis's parents were Justus Brandow and his first wife Lannah Conine who are buried in the Hunter Village Cemetery. Anyone have any ideas?
