    2. Is there anyone researching the Ploss/Plass family in Greene County? I have 3 "lost" Ploss's. Steven, no d.o.b. married to Lucinda Kerr b.1847 George b. 1828 married to Phoebe Brandow b. 1834 Catharine b. 1830 married to Eli Jones The surname also appears as Blass. Age wise they all appear to be siblings. Most of the Ploss's I have found came from either Ulster or Columbia County. Any help appreciated

    3. Hi Sylvia: Margaret Day, who was married to Paul Livingston. Paul died and is buried in Athens Rural Cemetery, Athens, NY but the cemetery office cannot find his grave. After he died Margaret Day went to Orlando, Florida to live with her son and daughter in law, Roscoe Conklin Livingston and Anna Loretta Grant Livingston. Margaret died there in 25 June 1929 and is buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Orlando, Florida. Roscoe and Anna Livingston are my grand parents and Margaret Day and Paul Livingston my great grand parents. BTW Paul Livingston was born in Berlin Germany and came to America when he was about the age of 5. I am still looking for that William Brandow's parents. 2. Thanks Pat! I have George Brandow 1875-1945, married to Eugenie Ruth Benjamin. Eugenie was the daughter of William Henry Benjamin 1840-1913 and Ida Mattice 1840-1908. George was the son of Zephaniah Brandow and Sabrina Blinn.

    2. The 1855 Ashland, NY census (as transcribed by Fred Q. Bowman) lists Lambert Brandow (42), wife Love (40), and children: Nathaniel (21), David (17), Zepheniah (15) and Hellen (12). The Windham Journal, weekly newspaper published at Windham, Greene County, New York, issue of Thursday, April 9, 1896, Died: BRANDOW - At his residence on North Settlement, April 2, 1886, Zephaniah Brandow, aged about 57 years. Interment in the North Settlement cemetery. Obviously the wrong year of death was published in this notice. Also note that the day on his gravestone (d. 7 Apr 1896) does not agree with this newspaper account. His obituary says that he was born in Hunter on 25 Dec 1839; died in North Settlement, town of Ashland on 2 Apr 1896; married in 1865 to Miss Mary Hartwell who died 16 months later; married again in 1867 to Miss Sabrina E. Blinn who survives along with two daughters and one son. You can order a copy of his death certificate from the Ashland Town Clerk. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------- Please visit the Town of Windham Historical Society's page on Facebook and become a fan. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Town-of-Windham-Historical-Society/46527396938 (Facebook is a registered trademark of Facebook, Inc.)
