    3. Hello I am looking for my 3rd gr grandmother - Sarah GRAVES she was born 18 Apr 1800 in NY [NY according to the census's] She married as the 2nd wife to JOSEPH SHEPARD when she was 19 in 1819 - They were married at Pittsford, Genesee, New York Joseph's first wife was Asenath BAILEY, 1777-1819 she was mother of 6 children, they lived at Darien, Genesee, New York - Asenath died 13 Feb 1819 at Darien, Genesee, NY - and Joseph married later that year at Pittsford, Monroe, NY to Sarah GRAVES - who were her parents?? I understand that Monroe county was made out of Genesee county - is that correct? I live in Brookings, Oregon and am not too good at that part of the country - I have been told [never seen it] that on page 285 of the book Northfield on the Genesee by Margaret Schmitt MacNab, Katherine Wilcox Thompson and Shirley Cox Husted - they talk of my 3rd gr gf Joseph SHEPARD - In it is mentioned that his first wife Asenath was a member of "THE FIRST CONGREGATIONAL SOCIETY OF NORTHFIELD" Do any of you know what faith that would be? AND is there still such a church there, and if so do any of you know how to find records from it in the time frame I am looking at? AND I am wondering if there is anything about his 2/wf Sarah GRAVES in that book - I am so in need to find our Sarah's ancestors - been looking for her over 40 years, and she just Does not seem to have any parents, brothers or sisters - you know the grandmother that just Showed up one day from no where - got married, had 10 children, raised those besides the 6 of her husband's first wife - is in the 1850-60-70 and 1880 census - WHO WAS SHE? Thank you so very much Wilma Fleming Haynes wilmahaynes@direcway.com
