I recently purchased an old frame at the Goodwill in Batavia, NY. Inside the frame, was a photo of a family which appears to be from the mid to late 1800's. It is a photo of an elderly woman and 5 children - 2 boys and 3 girls. Unfortunately, there is no name on the photo...only the following is written on the bottom of the mat - Carl Weiss, Frankfurt aM Bleichstrasse 28 am Petersthor If any of you are interested, I'd be happy to e-mail you a scan of this photo. It's obvious it meant a lot to someone. The weathered condition of the frame shows me that it hung on the wall for many years. I'd love to be able to reunite this photo with family.
