Ginny, I've been workinh on this and need some more information. From the book: Elijah Slocum was born Feb 2,1770 in what would later be Pawling,Duchess Cty,NY. He moved to White Creek, Washington Ctty, NY and there amrried June 27,1793 Hannah Preston who was born April 13,1771. They settle on a farm in Cambridge, Washington Cty, NY where they die - she Dec 2, 1848 and he Feb 15,1850. They had 7 children, all girls. Where did you see that he was in Van Buren County? I can locate Aaron and William in the 1880 census, Florecne and Anna D. (Anice) in the online biographies of Van Buren County for Edwin P. And Samuel J. Orton but can't find any trace of Job anywhere. Where did you find him? I have a few proabable connections in the book but I could use some more infomration. The 1850 VB Cty census has no Slocums , I got the online VB Cty marriage records and the 1880 census and can put together some families there but not necessarily those in your list. What connection do the names on your list have (versus all the marriage or census list)? By the way my relatives Merrick Monroe Slocum went from Lewis Cty NY to Barry Cty Mi.
