I have two old xeroxed photos of John Drake and Samuel Drake with the source hand-written on them as the "1876 Atlas of Genesee County." I've never seen a source by that name and don't find it in our Boston libraries. Any chance any one on the list has seen these pics, have easy access to this "Atlas," or can correct the source reference? Unfortunately, I don't have a page number or more detailed citation. Yes there is. Its called the Combination Atlas Map of Genesee Co. New York published in Philadelphia by Everts, Ensign and Everts, 1876. Land owners names are written on the maps in each town. We got it in most the libraries locally. Since your library doesn't have it you can look at it on microfilm at one of the Latter Day Saints family history centers. I checked their site and they do have the atlas (link below). http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/fhlcatalog/supermainframeset.asp?display=titledetails&titleno=300033&disp=Combination+atlas+map+of+Genesee+County%%20%20&columns=*,0, You can find the closest location to you (and there was one in Boston) by going to http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/FHC/frameset_fhc.asp ===== Cindy Amrhein Historian/Abstractor Town of Alabama Historian Genesee Co., NY ********************** Historian's Page - Alabama, NY http://www.rootsweb.com/~nycalaba/ APHNYS (The Association of Public Historians of New York State) http://www.tier.net/~aphnys/ You can easily ascertain whether the occupant drinks bitters in the morning and whiskey with his dinner, or pure water and nothing else If he drinks bitters you will find his garden full of weeds. James Wadsworth 1791 __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
