Reminder! Bethany History Keepers Meeting! ~Our next meeting is this weekend - Saturday October 18th~ 4:00 pm~at the Rolling Hills/Carriage Village, in Bethany~ Please plan to attend-- We will be discussing possible uses for the Bethany Town Hall, should it be decided that new offices will be built~ The town has "offered" the building to the Town Historian for use as a museum/history center~and it could be open for us-and other area groups-to have meetings there! What's New? A gentleman recently donated several pictures of the old County Poor House to me, and they will be displayed at the meeting, along with the other photographs, maps, and interesting facts and memories of Bethany. If you have anything you would like to share with the group, won't you please bring it along for us to see? It could be photos...or maybe some kitchen gadget that your great-grandmother used - or perhaps a tool that Gramps used out in his toolshed. Notice! Book Signing Available------ Copies of the newly-published book, "Bethany, 1800-1900: The Poorhouse and the People," will be available for sale. If you weren't able to get to the recent book-signing at the Holland Land Office museum, you are welcome to come Saturday and purchase one. Bring a friend ! Everyone is welcome to attend who holds interest in the past days of Bethany and also those whose interests lie in present-day, on-going activities and events, for what we do today will be tomorrow's history for us to pass onto future History Keepers.
