It is obvious to me that the diretory is listing only heads of households. I know from other sources that at 173 East State Street, Eva (SEELEY) BOSTWICK was living with her two daughters. At 175 East State Street, Lulu BOSTWICK was living with her daughter Anna (BOSTWICK)SALTSMAN and Anna's son Robert D. SALTSMAN (my father). Since Lulu's husband Lavern was on the 1930 Census, this helps me pin down the year that he died to 1930-1937. Detailed nformation on these individuals is on my family tree on RootsWeb. >From several trips to Johnstown in my childhood, I remember both my grandmother Anna B. SALTSMAN, and her sister-in-law Eva next door. Eva was referred to as "Aunt Eva" because she was my father's aunt. Both Anna and Eva were old ladies with pure white hair who loved to garden. They both had very large gardens in the land behind their back yard and garage. This land was often a swamp back in those days (1960s).
