Actually one would take the River to Canawaugha (Fonda NY ) and its just a short journey up the hill from there... (I guess the path of 30A was an old trail that has been there since the early 1700s...or there is the old road close by Fort Johnson that also goes up the hill into what is now Fulton Co.
